SHADOWCONNECTED PHOTOSHOOT , Behind the Scenes

Back in June I was sent 4 samples from SHADOWCONNECTED SS2O11 line (New York), but it wasn't until August before they were photographed with expertise, courtesy of CONFIDY KONG.

I will be sharing the final shots along with my compilation of review and interview with the designer, Ji Oh. I apologize for being absent for so long, I have been flagged by many of you to return to F ASHIONCONT A GIOUS. It feels so amazing to connect with you guys again, and with one university term under my belt, I think I will have a better handle being consistent with you guys in the new year.

I have revamped F ASHIONCONT A GIOUS in its entirety and cannot wait to share all the expansion that I have been working on for you :) Tell me if you have anything in mind that you would also like to see, and I'll definitely try to arrange it.

FAIRE DU BLOG CONSTRUCTION, an Announcement

Before we get all exasperated about this ordeal, in conjunction with my unaccpetable absence, I would first love to extend thank you to all of you who have visited and contributed on a daily basis. You guys truly warm my heart and induce the case of serious kicking-self-in-shin days when I don't post (um, almost all of August?)

It was fabulous to meet and interact with some of you for the first time! I sure thought meeting ALICIA from FASHION WITH A CAPITAL F sky rocketed my world.

Excuses, we all despise them, hence we charge forth; I apologize for my lack of presence for this bit. Although I have been working on renovating the entire blog since July, the wee hours before residence move-in day is going to delay it just slightly. I promise that this redesigned blog will satisfy your fashion blogging expectations.

ADDICTIONS, the Analysis

Magazines were the culprits and devious hoarders of my time. I consumed as many articles as my over-occupied mind saw fit. Not to fret, I devoured the editorials and the campaigns just as thoroughly. Although I had passively acknowledged magazines for contributing to my shameful procrastination for several years, September 2010 marked the end of my denial.

Imagine nearly seven months of forced intervention between my precious news editorials and tidbits of favourable fashion announcements. Seven followed by another three. But it was not just fashion magazines that I placed myself at a dynamic distance to: I also refused to be hypnotized by international news as much as possible (I have a knack for political reports--nerdy, right?).

It is astonishing and, most certainly, appalling that I barely knew of JOHN GALLINAO'S disciple antisemitism, and the fiasco that immediately ensued . Thankfully, one of my favourite teachers informed of this drastic wound to the fashion industry.

Summer's finally here, and yes, I've already done some serious overindulgence.

MERCHANTS OF COOL, the Industry

In stepping a valiant stride away from exploitative means for ruthless marketing, fashion has taken collective talent to another rising: instant style collaborations. Browsing only a few hours after posting my "Adrian Wu: The Show" post , I allowed myself to drift momentarily from the unpleasant face of my upcoming tests, assignments and exams. However, in doing so, I was pleased to notice that once a deceitful measure of commercialization, at least the ethical stakes for high fashion, have risen a fair amount.

Jestering towards style inspiration outlets, such as JAK&JIL (hail to international and Canadian recognition), STOCKHOLM STREETSTYLE (recent to my fashion fixes!), ALTAMIRA (I have a severe case of model obsession), and THE SARTORIALIST (where my fashion fixation developed), I sense a pure relationship between the reader and the writer. Specifically, bridging talent with friendship or even with the added element of business, it is unlike, for this particular extension of the fashion industry or the world of business, The Cool Hunters.

Of both the biographies that I have read of Tommy Ton and Craig Arend, purity thread throughout their intentions. By rushing after fashion's elite--capturing intriguing style that appeal to them--they have engineered their own high fashion photography niches, while brewing a wild storm of wishful fashion photographers.

Each anticipated post that these style shooters publish onto their websites has allowed for fashion to engulf with more momentum and desire. In part of sharing their photographic talents, these photographers also send ripples of limitless creativity and inspiration for trendsetting and style searching.

This is significantly less dramatic than the relentless effort to "buy and sell cool". It is also far from the desperate cry for the adults of these powerhouse corporations to wane their way into our exclusive "empire" as adolescents, and young adults to overstudy our behaviour, and approximate the best time to turn over what we naturally deemed as cool, for profit.

Trying to "speak our language" doesn't cut it, and siding this demographic long enough to generate a profit-oriented response will not benefit these Cool Hunters either. However, Cool Hunter Corespondents, which Ton and Arend have notably become, are the key players for corporations to stream their research through.

Simply why should notes be scribbled over such individuals? Simple, they've earned the trust and generates response, and therefore easily transferable into corporate databases. Many have taken notice years in advance.

Easy, simple, and utterly satisfying.

Adrian Wu: The Show (VIP)

Examining a compilations of his most recent and previous collections at only an elbow's width away, I composed myself to absorb the moment. Perplexing the Canadian Fashion Industry with remarkable artistry and genius visions, it will only be a matter of a few more seasons before ADRIAN WU will become associated with the international fashion clique. Judging by my past prediction, which I had done as part of an extinct blog, I am confident in this settlement.

Unparalleled in his ability to define elements of historical fashion and translate its cultural significance into the present, Adrian Wu comes as a rare and invaluable fashion visionaire. Like-minded in his philosophy as Alexander McQueen to invent, Adrian Wu, since his Vancouver Fashion Week debut, has been to prompt the fanatical fantasies of Canadian couture admirers, and to pursue originality in a common pool of creativity.

Early April marked the two invitational dates to which ADRIAN WU invited myself to review a selection of 18 pieces compiled from his a series of lines and collections. I did not refrain from over-employing the shutter featured on my camera. Regardless of which angle I analyzed and critically thought of each design, I was launched into an outburst of marvel and continuous awe, lasting throughout the nights, and maintaining its effect long afterward.

The presence and the performance of this arrangement were diligently executed by unparalleled fabric manipulation and garment construction. Fluent in developing intricate patterns, the supreme textile architecture by which Adrian Wu is able to effectively transfer mentally exhausting patterns is pristine the quality, precision and emulation of a couture house with.

To the depth of thought and, I repeat, the mental exhaustion of Canada's unearthed gem, I see a designer with a concrete and distinguished vision. It does not require a refined eye or much artistic capacity to notice the strong personalization that trickles between every cut.

His work is so arresting with drama, regardless of his intention. It is truly an unheard of case to have a new designer develop fine skills in such a daunting profession under his own wing--think back to all the internships McQueen had the opportunity to strengthen and to tune his expertise.

Before the first yard of fabric is ready to be cut or the first spool to be spun, there is great interest behind the thought unites each backstitch, every knot that enlivens a thought into a masterpiece. The amount of internal strength that Adrian harnesses cannot be more fitting and celebratory to the obvious talent that exasperates us with his overwhelming talent.

With the knack to affix fashion aficionados of all economic spectrums and societal status, his designs will add to the culture, the appeal, and the lust after luxurious and authentic fashion. All before our eyes, and before ADRIAN WU's eyes, it is an understatement to consider him as the rising international fashion phenomenon.

Rodarte

Beyond the prominent trends that many designers have fallen in sync with, Rodarte has consistently stood at bay of contamination. A frequent favourite amongst New York designers, sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy are responsible for truly captivating our imaginations, whether translating the reminiscence of their childhood backyard or the notion of sleepwalking.

This season, the expectation and the satisfaction continued to soar. Often praised for their intricate and unique garment construction, Rodarte's fw 11 collection surprised all for its wearability, while miraculously staying in tact to their signature attitude--elements that are often sacrificed for either or. Whether gravitating our interests to become conservative with higher waistbands and longer hems, we are eager and willing to tag along as Rodarte creates innovation after innovation. The future of Rodarte is an investment.

Lanvin

Does Alber Elbaz ever perform poorly? The expectation and the reality both coincide: indefinitely and absolutely not. Since my discovery, seasons have flew by as I began my journey into higher fashion, and notably Alber Elbaz is one designer who has clung to my interest and influence. In accordance with his fall winter 211 collection, I could not be more pleased with his elegant and soft interpretation of the dominant minimalist movement within the fashion industry.

The merging of both his darker, more tribal collection from last season, in accordance to his preferred combination of neutral and vibrant pinks allowed for his market to expand further as fashion is taking the direction of embodying multiple personalities rather than a singular look. I applaud.

Horrific.

Why would any human being allow curiosity to overrule the consciousness of their humanity? I speak in regards to the depth of genetic experimentation, and nuclear facilities, especially reserved for mass-destruction. The enormous catastrophe that has torn through Japan is deeply devastating, but one particular detail brought me further to the edge of my seat as mother nature continued to unleash her anger at the human race, and to her own face: Nuclear Radiation.

It is beyond my logical understanding to grasp the entire operation of nuclear-anything (beyond cancer treatments). Why does it sound attractive to play with highly dangerous substances that were never, are never, and will never be friendly to the human race, nor our planet earth? Japan now immersed into a nightmare must re-configure its future in the wake of unforeseen environmental and health risks for both the citizens and geographical location of Fukushima. Thus far, radioactive particles have been detected on clothing, and according to Canadian university professor, Krzysztof Starosta, it is expected that some ground contamination will emerge.

Perhaps it is my automated inter-personality that has rattled me during this closely watched disaster, however, I am particularly concerned for the nuclear technicians and engineers, or any individual that will be closest to site of radioactive leakage. It worries me that no matter the desire to bear escape and safety from the nuclear generator, these nuclear professionals must risk their health and their lives in order to salvage their home, and their people.

My prayers are with every individual who has been impacted by this natural disaster.

JOHN GALLINAO: A BITTER ENDING TO GLORIOUS YEARS, the Situation

"Go Big, or Go Home."

This very combination has been embedded into my mind a thousand times over, but I do not stand alone to abide by it.

It is unfortunate to know that the man who defines this statement has defied it with swifter precision, than that of his career as Christian Dior's adored creative director. John Galliano, the architect and reviver of theatrical and exquisite design, has brought self-destruction upon his earned legacy.

Little commentary has been directed toward the magnitude of his ill statements, that is beyond his possible charges from the French Justice System. With disgust, the entire context of his racially-charged and hateful messages that he has been so spirited and reckless to spear has only generated enough shock to the world, but not with deep realization or investigation. Galliano has been powerful, and undeniably memorable with all that he has shared, yet out of this particular generosity, he has entered a forbidden and humanely unacceptable zone.

Instead, the world of fashion is scurrying along to elect another suitable candidate to ensure that the House of Dior does not scrape a dainty heel (expressed in the most respectable and admired manner), as it hopes its presence is maintained alongside the other few Luxury empires. It is especially heart-wrenching to realize which situation plays greater importance in the eyes of the public.

The entirety of this public humiliation came from a single grave mistake. It is difficult for individuals who establish such a sought after signature, and or establish a highly respected and international reputation to behave accordingly to represent their professional career, seperate to that of their own personal values and beliefs. Galliano's proclaimed admiration for and agreement with Hitler and his Nazi regime would synchronize and intercept with his professional half. Unfortunately, the Galliano that the world, in its universality, adored and swooned over, chose to tuck away his primary responsibility for Dior to express his own values. The separation failed miserably.

Galliano has never failed to immerse himself into his work and have his heavenly talent emulate his thoughts and very existence, but the tragedy that has arisen is a sorry tale of commending, and embrace the dangerous thoughts of Hitler's inhumane Nazi regime. The sickening statements that escaped amidst Galliano's drunken slurs reiterate the shortage of humanity. Indeed there are individuals who conduct themselves according to the ethics of right or wrong, and good or bad, but there are those who have made human rights their personal responsibility and have even built organizations, policies, and laws in effect.

Unfortunately, to realize that one tainted image of what is humanely acceptable reduces our glory in the face of inhumanity, and with Galliano, we realize the exact appalling manner that the fashion world has responded. Utterly disregarding moreso the horrifying substance of Galliano's Anti-Semitic beliefs, it is with great disappointment that the fashion world has not taken a moment to reinforce the value of tolerance as the highly anticipated Paris fashion week continues to unveil their runways, placing one stilettoed heel down at a time.

John Galliano does not only leave his fifteen year career as Christian Dior's Pret -a-Porter and Haute Couture's creative director, but he also leave fifty-four since 2000 behind to live in shame for intercepting his own fortunate career. After sharing his love and talent as one of fashion's finest designers, John Galliano, graduate of Central Saint Martins, and prominent member of the fashion industry since 1984, we dawn the end of Galliano's era of boundless sophistication, divine elegance, and wondrous marvel. John Galliano has illustrated the dynamic and substantial strength that lives within us when we speak, and from his ordeal, emphasizes the precaution that must accompany the arrangement and choice of our words.

I bid farewell to the designer that has fed me my greatest fantasies whose sour and ungraceful exit will forever affect my former admiration, inspiration, and respect for his design talent and mentality.

I bid you farewell.

In Remembrance, the Professional

Lee Alexander McQueen had the purest, most delicate, and meaningful visions that never failed to capture my interest. Based on my analysis of his work, I found that regardless of his rather questionable themes, he always was able to reveal beauty beneath the obvious. By means of his genius, the depth of his ideas and creativity shone the highest voltage of inspiration for me. Witches, sea creatures, and the other bizarre ideas he introduced was always executed with the greatest amount of respect. McQueen was the only designer that could translate his dreams and visions into melodies of fabric, strung together, and completed with the signature perfection.

I was struck so hard by his death. My design idol. My fashion god. My inspiration. Struck down by negative emotion. I was inspired to capture the essence of beauty like he did. During the time of his death I was unable to collect the exact words that I wished to leave in honor of Lee. Denial was all that suffocated me as I tried to find sources that contradicted this sick joke that I hoped it was. The dreams that he always left circulating around our heads now shattered, it is even harder to accept that this tragedy occurred in the wake of his prospering future.

To you, fashion's irreplaceable genius, Lee Alexander McQueen, may you continue to Rest In Peace.

Chanel Byzance, the Analysis

A quick glance back at history, it is easily identifiable which form of revolutionary dressing corresponded to which era. Unfortunately for the twenty-first century, the creation of a historical identity for the first decade has been less effective as perhaps the 17th century and the 50s. Drastic dynamics and cultures, yes? In terms of the twenty-first century, at least for its first decade, the creation of innovative designs and garment construction has slightly disintegrated. It is common that one designer and another some how drape a dress, or tailor a pant in scandalously similar ways that other designers had done from the previous season.

One of the most prestigious designers, and arguably the best for his ability to rejuvenate, revitalize, and re-introduce true genius in fashion design is none other than the House of Chanel, Fendi, and his eponymous line, Karl Lagerfeld. He has been more successful in maintaining breathtaking and innovative designs season upon season; never once missing a beat in capturing the hearts of the fashion obsessed and fashion onlookers. If You Have to Cry Go Outside by Kelly Cutrone is beyond perfection, and if you are unable to get enough of this woman, please tune into her reality show, Kell On Earth. Seriously, she has exposed the exact world that I am thriving desperately to be a part of. I enjoy that type of dirty work and gritty stress, related to the fashion industry.

I recall that exactly around this time last year (when I was in grade 12) that school decided to rev up its engines and pull us all into a frenzy of due dates, drop dead dates, presentations, seminars, and essays. This year, it might have gotten even worse. Actually, I am bombarded with more that I can handle. Hooray. And university applications are here, and the extra applications that come with applying to programs, and scholarship apps. How'z everyone dealing? Well, it's the weekend, better catch the mother up. Keep smiling.

Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard at it.

I am so obsessed with America's Next Top Model right now, it's not even funny. I am so thrilled that Tyra has really stepped up the show's authenticity for being a developing platform-ish for the real modeling industry. I love how it not only educates the contestants on the show of what to expect from the real industry, but the viewers also get a sense of how difficult it really is. It feel so glorifying :) I wish I could be a high fashion model haha. I am so passionate about the show because its everything that I want to be a part of. It's like balcony with no clear steps leading up to it. And I want to be there so bad, that I need to learn to be a superhero and manage my way up there. some how. and miraculously. who doesn't?

I am so disappointed that Kayla and Jane got voted out by the judges. This ep wasn't as hot because I already found out who was in the final two before I got to watch it today. I think it's pretty clear who is going to win. I am just not content with how conceited Chelsey has become. And if I haven't been clear before: Team Kayla & Team Jane (LLL).I'll just continue to indulge in the happiness I got from the Venice, Italy ep for now-I'm so mesmerized by Italy, period costume & couture fashion 8)

NYC fashion week has long ended, but I cannot wait to contribute my thoughts on the best week New York has had since I began tracking it's events. Seriously stellar. Today, well, a few minutes ago, 10 September 2010 ended. What is substantial about this date is that it happened to be FASHION'S NIGHT OUT around the entire world. I feel stupid that it didn't dawn on me, or that I even cared to notice which was the date of the event. Terrible, terrible me. But, happy Friday .

I enjoy venturing into the inter webbed universe and browse for truly unique and awe inspiring fashion videos. Chanel Cruise backstage details video is incredibly stunning. If you have never seen any footage or experienced first hand what Chanel garments truly look like up close, this will be the best introduction ever. This isn't the first details video I've seen from Chanel, but I am always stunned at the critique and tedious hand work- the reasons why houses, such like Chanel, price their garments so ridiculously high.

Summer is coming to an alarming end, and I have not done any of the following

a. sew the three dresses I require for my portfolio
b. complete my admission essays that I intended
c. complete my scholarship applications; it's a frightening process

e. re-learn the entire calculus and vectors course, and practice my French

Must cram everything in this last week prior to dedicating all my time towards the ever bedazzling world of academics (half sarcasm, half truth).

*Sorry for not posting in the longest of time! I've been super busy and my internet limit has already gone over, not sure when and where I will be able to blog from D: ! And sorry, I'm a very sensitive person...

Never had I watched a film and have it impact my emotions as much as I did while watching both the teasers and the actual film "Coco + James" of COCO ROCHA CONRAN and James Conran. I feel so fortunate that she shared these very personal segments of her life. Since summer started, I've been under a low spell, yearning for something exceptional and inspirational to capture me and even reinvent myself for the better.

In complete awe, my minuscule and rattled mind was without hesitation transfixed on the happiest moments of "Coco + James". Their two days at le Chateux de Challain most definitely shook my world. The impact continued to resonate throughout the many minutes that I gaped at the harmonious unison of audio and visual. The cinematography was absolute perfection, never have I seen any work that is more divine than this. Gibert Le, my friend, you are hired for mine.

From abandoning my conscience and leaving no part of me un-immersed into the videos, it shattered my world and gave me a preview of how beautiful life can truly be. It's making the most out of glorious moments and devoting yourself to them-your expectations will never be satisfied otherwise.

It's strange to be moved like I have never been before while watching a video whose intention was not to advocate change, but it advocated to me to be self-less, to share, be self-pitiless, and allow yourself to be taken by the moment (to a varied degree). And I know where my wedding will be ;)

I knew that I just couldn't simply make a simple comment on Coco's blog post about this as words can not appropriately describe the this wedding, and I hope that we all will be able to replicate this joyous feel many times in our lives.

It's Just What Comes With the Fame

For those of you who have been on edge for this US "Innovative Design Protection and Piracy Prevention Act", it is my pleasure to introduce (maybe even unveil to some people who didn't have a clue about it) the low down on this fashion design copyright.

I say it is about time that we (fine, USA), begins its mission to disintegrate the counterfeit market. Their disgusting copycat ways will land them in criminal arms (puns intended). It is downright difficult to be at the top of the design world, charge so heftily for genius designs and get little in return as a result of copyists do the devious ladder cutting and intercept the proper transactions.

There has been no greater urge to go au naturel in terms of personal care products such as cosmetics, and hair care and styling products. After reading an alarming post by Teen Vogue beauty director Eva Chen's note about the carcinogens (cancer causing chemicals) secreted into our beauty products from the companies that we are without doubt most loyal and trustworthy towards, I could not be more outraged.

These are the only products that are deemed safer than the rest as they have signed the Compact for Safe Cosmetics and approved. Please watch this rudely awakening video. It's hard to accept, especially since make up is crucial part of many people's lives in terms of their work (models, actors, etc.) and since the renown make up artists we hire own companies that did not make this safe list. ie. Pat McGarth for Maybeline. Perhaps there are many brands that we trust that have yet to be approved, but just precaution yourself.

I disagree with the lack of attention and interest with the haute couture collections. Couture is not particularly blooming as it once did, however I do believe that by having more videos showcasing haute couture, it will bring interest to a lot of people. Yes, many people barely can afford a pret-a-porter designer piece, but at least exposing that segment of the industry and reminding people that still prevails in some people`s minds (like mine!), it`d just be another visual treat-and I`d say it`d be an even greater visual.

If I could afford couture, I`d be decked out in it quite often...but that`s not the case.

Oh, and Karl Lagerfeld is part of God: "after the Belle Epoque (<-century) tralala" Too funny!

Oh Sunday; a day to clean up the accumulation that I have contributed to my house from the past 7 months excuse that "school is taking over my life, can't clean up!". Besides that, I am happy to indulge in magazines for a little while-haven't done so since Christmas break. I know, how do I live? I say this has proved that I can have at least a bit of self-control. Haha.

I have been Teen Voguing, Fashion magazining, Flaring, and Voguing. Absolutely whimsical, oh, and I am finally identifying my style icons, perhaps I won't resort to the slob look any more often. I will be sharing with you soon!

CHRISTIAN DIOR-My weakness is massive ball gowns. To wear Dior Haute Couture, you must be aware that all eyes will be attracted to and will remain plastered to you. I am never unimpressed with John Galliano's luxurious creations. Every lucky woman (or man) who wears any piece from this specific line is not allowed to radiate no less than a goddess.

I'd kill to have these spectacular garments. It was interesting to see the use of the wool material in a few pieces, I think that is a great way to further establish your greatness. I do not recall any wool in previous collections, but I may probably be mistaken.

Nevertheless, the vibrancy from this collection will only have heads spinning faster around than you can get to the nearest Dior sample sale (if those ever exist). No frowning is ever to be witnessed in these dresses. It would be a crime.

LANVIN: Alber Elbaz has done it again, resort style. Although I wasn't impressed with the entire collection like I usually am for his SS and FW collections, but this will do. The only thing I ask is more light on the clothes and models please?

GIVENCHY: What the fothermucker. Honestly, jaw dropping pieces. Mr. Ricardo Tisci is blowing my mind with every collection and is just establishing this house higher and higher on my favourites list. All the pieces were unique and will make you stand out. I'm drooling in an oh not so attractive way. Please hook me up with this collection! I'd wear the pieces to death.

CHANEL: Horrors. I am not going to lie, I didn't find the appeal of the collection suitable to my tastes. I felt like it was a major flash back to that hippie, everything super duper flowy, and don't forget the cowboy hat type of collection. Everything seemed to typical and lacked the oomph I crave from Mr. Karl Lagerfeld's specialty. It is a very large collection, 87 pieces.

CHRISTIAN DIOR: First of all, I can not express my gratitude towards the casting director for this show. I have never seen so many beautiful Asian models in one show. This was a very sugar sweet boop-dee-boop type collection. Although some pieces were a bit boring (slightly too typical) there were a few that were gorgeous (and those are the ones I have chosen to display).

CLASS OF 2010-Done! We did it! An absolutely fantastic day (despite hunting for my mother to give my camera to, which didn't go so well). It is really surreal to realize that high school is already done, the next chapters our of lives will be soon in rapid motion of unraveling new beginnings.

I cannot even top the valedictorian speech my friend Mikey did, but I would love to congratulate all my friends and to anybody who graduates this year. MARCHESA-How often do you run into a collection where there is almost not even one piece you are not intrigued and seduced by? Tell me about, and luckily I encountered Marchesa's latest collection. I cannot express how unbelievably allured by the originality of the designs? I've seen more Marchesa gowns on the red carpet than almost any other designer (well from what little red carpet I watch). This and Givenchy are on my "Most-Succulent Designs" list that is practically devour-able. I apologize for the savageness. These dresses are faint worthy. They even perfected the tribal print theme which on other runways that I have observed to be disastrous.Why is my budget so low? Damn.

Note to Marchesa designers: I am very interested in being your intern!

STRAIGHT FROM PARIS-This is the first time I have ever checked out men's fashion week. Ever. And my reaction? I am quite pleased with the creativity that can go into the creation of menswear. Many of my guy friends have urged me to design a men's line, but I am impaired at playing with the elements that go into men's clothing. I feel as though if I alter something, it's like disobeying the law. Yea, sorry.

KRIS VAN ASSCHE: His approach this collection is very minimalist, something very parallel to the many collections such as Chloe and Celine, despite that those were themes for spring 2010. Overall very neat, and favourable for casual and formal dressing, although I would prefer something tidier and more tailored.

ANN DEMEULEMEESTER: This designer is incredibly talented. In this collection there are a few formal wear pieces that have been rejuvenated so well beyond the typical tux. My future boyfriends and husband, this is a must to purchase! I was blown away by this collection despite a few oddly arranged cut out pieces. Note the cute rain boots.

GIVENCHY: This is very similar to the resort collection for women, I like the clean yet detailed tops that the men wore. However, I had issues with the pants, mind if I say skorts? I cannot comment on the popularity of animal prints, but I can say that I have not seen leopard print in a while with the ladies. Maybe at D&G one year... I like the Romeo like pants, they remind me of my favourite era.

JOHN GALLIANO: Damn, the boys in this show are steaming! Well the ones that are not covered in "the look" that is. I feel like this is a very male stripper, mime, and very 20's film inspired-especially with the trenches. A very bad boy feel, too. There are a lot of feminine cues in this collection, such as cinched waists and shaved legs. (I have dibs on the model second from the left-omgg)

LOUIS VUITTON-Wow, Marc is making his mark with LV big time. Everything was crisp and fresh. This collection is definitely for hot preppy boys. I feel like this collection will do very well.

A MCQUEEN'S NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR-I personally thought the era of Alexander McQueen would go "kur-plop". The newly appointed creative director is none other than Lee's second hand in command lady, Sarah Burton. The collection has a few semi-strong pieces that scream a bit of McQueen, but it is evident that it does not live entirely up to the McQueen standard. I liked the chosen theme of POMP AND CIRCUMSTANCE; it seemed something witty that McQueen would have enjoyed reaching into.

I reviewed his previous men's collection for winter and I am amazed at the difference. I congratulate Sarah for being selected to be the new designer. I believe and look forward to seeing great designs from her.

HOT FROM PARIS-This is an incredibly strange season via menswear. Rather than the being the inspiration for women to steal from, it is evident that a lot of feminine clothing has been taken and used to translate into fem-MEN-ism. Well at least that is what I am calling it.

Cinched waists, mid-drifts, shaved legs, veils, skorts (Givenchy), wish-there-was-cleavage tops, granny panties, and other methods of defining the waist, it looks like an International Gay Parade. The only difference is that its going to last for a season not a day. I am not sure how straight men will react to these collections, as I know I was a little puzzled when I observed feminine appeal. I feel like I am seeing the cute French gay guy on many runways. Honestly, I ain't feeling a lot of this.

NOTE: Please note that I had no intention of bashing anything related to "gay", I was merely pointing out something common between a few runways.

I just bought a new camera! It's my first professional cam, a la Canon Rebel XS. Now the only problem is that I am a super short person and the straps look retarded due to the excess strap hanging thanks to my short torso. Does anyone know away to tuck them in? Or at least another method? There is no more room to tuck it in, and I am not taping it.

I'm modeling for a show on Sunday at Gage, you can come out and see it. I am doing it for my dearest friend Aurelie from the Asper's program I took last year (best experience educationally and emotionally). I am thinking of sharing a few pics from the photoshoot I did with my friends, and doing a resort review for summer 2010 because I have eyed a few hot pieces. And I am definitely sharing a few of my inspirations for my portfolio.

I've got to run a lot of things today, and I am still sitting at home, not dressed, room still not cleaned, and so much other shat. Great way to start summer, hmm? I need to get this act together. Now. Paiice, have an amazing day!

I absolutely detest the intentional desire to take away ones own life, it saddens me to know that they were victims of destruction. I say destruction in terms of the emotional abuse brought on by others for the victim to immerse themselves further into darkness, weakness, and helplessness.

MUCH LOVE-Olivier Theysken is one of my favourite designers. Recently he has agreed to design for the brand Theory. I have never heard of Theory, but looks like its going to be super good!

I knew that following his stint at Nina Ricci (his successor has a lot of catching up to do) that no matter the contractor, his ability to be affluent in capturing the attention of spectators is undeniably powerful. It does not matter who he actually designs for, his restoration/betterment of any house, especially some renowned international powerhouses, truly bewilders all. This is why I admire him so much.

I find it hard to adapt/accept the creativity and construction that those designers who have replaced the former. Especially the way that Olivier completed his term at Nina Ricci, the label is simply not the same. My wonders also contribute to the replacement of Alexander McQueen. What an absolutely horrendous and painful process for find anyone who can equate to the sensitivity and enlightenment McQueen had and was able to inspire from.

MODEL OBSESSION-Jac is one of my very narrow list of favourite models in this industry. Her pose here for the cover of Numero is so captivating and exemplifies extreme beauty. Miss Runway Queen for FW 2011 collections in NY, London, Milan, and Paris might I add? (Actually, I am not sure if she walked for London). She is an absolute sensation on the runway and in editorials at the mere age of 16. Why wasn't I do something so profound at 16? Not cool.

One thing you shall know about me is my critical critiquing of everything. Yes, you will hear me analyzing, criticizing, and praising nearly everything except people. It is the performance and final product of things that I go stern on. Why? Just because :) . I've got a good eye,that's all :p. Vicki can attest to this!

Featuring DJ's, designers, and a band hailing from Canada, the benefit fashion show held in Toronto on 27 May 2010 could not have been a better organized event. Tickets sold out, major sponsors acquired, and the attention drawn to expose the harshness of reality could not have set out for a better evening. Did I mention the emcee was none other than Fashion Television's Jeanne Becker? Stellar.

This is what happens when icons connect with small projects. They nurture and help to create a phenomenon. Coco Rocha, what an impeccable character.
